Sharetheload and its affiliates, service providers, advertising partners, and other third parties (collectively, "we," "us," or "our") use cookies and other identification and tracking technologies on our websites, mobile applications, electronic communications, advertisements, and other online services (collectively, the "Services") for a number of purposes, including: authenticating users; remembering your preferences and settings; keeping the Services secure; determining the popularity of content; delivering and measuring the effectiveness of advertising campaigns; analyzing site traffic and trends; and generally understanding the online behaviors and interests of people who interact with our Services.
Sharetheload is based in Australia and provides the Services to users worldwide. This Cookie Statement explains the types of cookies and other technologies we use, why we use them, how long they last, and the choices available to you wherever you are located. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which describes more broadly how we collect, use, and share personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the Australian Privacy Principles, and other applicable privacy laws. If we make material changes to this Statement, we will notify you as described in Section 10.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your browser or device by websites, apps, online media, and advertisements. Cookies serve different functions and can be classified in several ways:
- First-party cookies are set by Sharetheload or any other entity that operates the domain you are visiting (for example, www.sharetheload.com).
- Third-party cookies are set by companies other than the operator of the domain you are visiting. For example, Google may set a cookie on your browser while you are visiting www.sharetheload.com; that is a third-party cookie.
- Session cookies last only for the duration of your browsing session and are automatically deleted when you close your browser.
- Persistent cookies survive after your browser is closed. They can recognize your device when you re-open your browser, and they remain on your device until they expire or you delete them. The cookies we use have lifespans ranging from a few minutes to a maximum of 24 months, unless a longer period is required for legal, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.
2. Other Identification and Tracking Technologies
In addition to cookies, we and our partners use the following technologies:
- Pixel tags (also called web beacons or pixels) are small blocks of code installed on a website, application, advertisement, or email that can retrieve certain information about your device and browser, including device type and operating system, browser type and version, website visits and the time of those visits, IP address and approximate location, and identifiers (including cookies) that uniquely identify your device. Pixel tags allow third parties to set and read cookies from a domain they do not operate, and to collect information about visitors to that domain, typically with the permission of the domain owner. In emails, pixels can tell us whether a message was opened.
- Local storage and cache refer to other places on your browser or device where websites, ads, or third parties can store information, including HTML5 local storage, session storage, and browser cache.
- Software Development Kits (SDKs) are pieces of third-party code embedded in our mobile applications. They function like cookies and pixels but operate in the mobile-app context, where cookies cannot always function. SDKs may collect information such as your mobile advertising identifier (Apple IDFA or Google Advertising ID), device information, and how you interact with the app, and may share it with the SDK provider.
- Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) allow our websites and apps to exchange information with partners. Partner code integrated through APIs may allow those partners to collect certain information about users and their interactions with the Services.
- Device and browser characteristics ("fingerprinting") — some technologies can combine non-cookie signals (such as screen size, fonts, operating system, and browser settings) to recognize a device. We restrict our partners from using fingerprinting to circumvent your cookie choices.
3. Types and Purposes of Cookies We Use
The table below sets out the categories of cookies and similar technologies used on our Services, the purposes for which we use them, and examples of the third parties that may serve them on our behalf. The lists of third-party providers are illustrative, not comprehensive, and may change over time. The controls currently available on the website can be reviewed at any time in our Cookie Preference Center through the "Cookie settings" link in the footer, or through the settings menu of our mobile app.

4. Legal Bases, Notice, and Consent
Australia
We handle personal information collected through cookies and similar technologies in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), including the obligations to collect personal information by lawful and fair means, to provide clear notice of our collection practices (which this Statement and our Privacy Policy do), and to take reasonable steps to keep that information secure. Although Australian law does not currently mandate opt-in consent for cookies, we voluntarily provide all users — including Australian users — with a Cookie Preference Center so you can control non-essential cookies at any time. We monitor the ongoing reform of the Privacy Act and will update our practices as new requirements (including any arising from the Government's further tranche of reforms and the Children's Online Privacy Code) come into force.
European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland
Where required by the EU/UK General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and ePrivacy rules, we ask for your consent before placing any cookies or similar technologies on your device other than those that are strictly necessary. When you first visit our Services from such a jurisdiction, you will see a consent banner allowing you to accept all, reject all, or customize your choices by category. Declining non-essential cookies is as easy as accepting them. You can withdraw or change your consent at any time through the Cookie Preference Center, and we will refresh your consent periodically (at least every 12 months) or whenever our use of cookies materially changes. Where consent is not required, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating, securing, and improving the Services, balanced against your rights and interests.
Other jurisdictions
A growing number of countries — including Brazil (LGPD), Canada (PIPEDA and Quebec Law 25), South Korea, China, Saudi Arabia, and India — impose their own notice or consent requirements for tracking technologies. Where you access the Services from a jurisdiction that requires opt-in consent, our consent banner will apply the standard required in your location.
5. Your Choices
You have the right to choose whether or not to accept cookies. However, cookies are an important part of how the Services work, so if you refuse or remove certain cookies, some features of the Services may become unavailable or not function properly.
- Cookie Preference Center. The simplest way to manage your choices is through our Cookie Preference Center ("Cookie settings" in the website footer or app settings), where you can enable or disable each non-essential category at any time.
- Browser settings. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. You can set your browser to remove or reject cookies by following the instructions in your browser's "Help," "Settings," or "Preferences" menu. This includes Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge on both desktop and mobile.
- Mobile advertising identifiers. On iOS, the App Tracking Transparency framework lets you decline tracking per app (Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking). On Android, you can delete or reset your Advertising ID and opt out of ads personalization (Settings → Google → Ads).
- Industry opt-out tools. To learn more about interest-based advertising, or to opt out of having your web-browsing information used for behavioral advertising, visit: optout.networkadvertising.org and www.aboutads.info/choices (United States); youradchoices.ca (Canada); and www.youronlinechoices.eu (Europe).

Please note that opting out of interest-based advertising does not mean you will no longer see ads; it means the ads you see may be less relevant to you. Also, opt-out choices are often stored in cookies, so if you clear your cookies or use a different browser or device, you may need to renew your choices.
6. Your Regional Privacy Rights
Australia
Under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), you have the right to request access to, and correction of, the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of receiving direct marketing from us. Following the Privacy and Other Legislation Amendment Act 2024, individuals also have a statutory right to sue for serious invasions of privacy, and from December 2026 we are required to be transparent in our privacy policy about automated decisions that significantly affect individuals. If you have a privacy concern, please contact us first using the details in Section 11; if you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
United States
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, and similar laws in other U.S. states (including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, and Oregon), the use of third-party advertising cookies may constitute a "sale" of personal information or "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising, and "targeted advertising" under state law. Residents of these states have the right to opt out. You can exercise this right through Cookie Settings in the website footer and, where applicable, through the privacy settings in our mobile app, or by using a browser or extension that transmits the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. We treat a valid GPC signal as a request to opt out of sale/sharing and targeted advertising for that browser.
EEA, UK, and Switzerland
You have the rights described in our Privacy Policy under the GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
7. Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. Because there is no common industry standard for interpreting DNT signals, our Services do not currently respond to DNT signals. We do, however, honor the Global Privacy Control signal for users in jurisdictions where it has legal effect, as described in Section 6.
8. Cookies Set by Third Parties
We do not control cookies and technologies set by third parties, and their use is governed by those parties' own privacy and cookie policies. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of the third parties named in Section 3 to understand how they use the information they collect. Where a third party acts as our service provider or processor, we require it by contract to use information collected via our Services only to provide services to us.
9. Cross-Border Data Transfers
Because we operate worldwide, information collected through cookies and similar technologies may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in countries other than the one in which you reside, including Australia, the United States, and other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where we disclose personal information overseas, we take steps consistent with APP 8 of the Australian Privacy Principles to ensure the recipient handles it in accordance with the APPs, and, for transfers from the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. 10. Changes to This Cookie Statement
We may update this Cookie Statement from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use, legal requirements — including the ongoing reforms to the Australian Privacy Act — or our practices. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Statement, and, if the changes are material, we will provide additional notice (such as a banner on our website or an in-app notification) and, where required by law, obtain your renewed consent.
